Lady Vol Divers Complete First Day in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Tennessee Lady Vol divers wrapped up the first day of competition at the Texas All-American Diving Invitational in Austin, Texas, on Wednesday. Five Lady Vols were among the 40 collegiate athletes competing on the three-meter springboard, and freshman Jaime Sanger led the team with a ninth place finish.
Sanger recorded a score of 453.85 in the semifinals, but fell just shy of advancing among the top eight into the finals. Junior Lizzy Flynt finished 11th (451.30), sophomore Bethany Minser ended in the 25th slot (233.70), and freshmen Stacy Binyon (31st, 216.30) and Angela Harms (36th, 200.60) rounded out the UT list.
All five Lady Vols return to action on Thursday with the collegiate women's one-meter springboard competition beginning with prelims at 10 a.m. CT and finals at 6:30 p.m. CT. The meet continues through Sunday at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center, with open competition starting Friday.
