Kupritz Named to Maccabi USA Women's Soccer Team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee soccer forward Ariel Kupritz has been chosen to represent the Maccabi USA Open Women's Soccer Team for the 20th World Maccabiah Games that will be held in Israel from July 4-18.
According to the organization's official release, "Maccabi USA builds Jewish pride through sports, generating the emotional intensity, high ideals and powerful camaraderie of competition. We connect athletes, volunteers, and supporters with the global Jewish community. Our athletic, educational and cultural experiences build Jewish identity, perpetuate Jewish continuity worldwide and strengthen support for the State of Israel."
This will be the 20th edition of the World Maccabiah Games, an event that debuted in 1932 and has seen over 62,000 athletes participate since. Maccabi USA will bring a team of over 1,100 athletes to join the 10,000-plus Jewish athletes from 80 other countries around the world who will be participating in 43 different sports.
Kupritz, who will be a redshirt senior next fall for the Vols' soccer team, is one of 20 players to be selected to the team. The Maryville, Tenn., native has scored four goals and registered 10 points during the past two seasons at Tennessee.
